Frederick Hall Obituary

HALL, FREDERICK W. 87, of Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016. He was the beloved husband for 63 years, of Edith (Sinapi) Hall. Born in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Charles E. and Mabel C. (Marshall) Hall, he settled in RI in 1950, leaving for some years to run a successful business in NJ and then to begin his retirement in NH, returning to RI in 2003. Mr. Hall graduated from Roger Williams College with an associate's degree in 1957. For many years before retiring in 1993, he was in the electric motor and control industry, beginning at Walco Electric and moving on to Burton Industries before opening his own firm. He was a long-time member of the Jaycees and an active member of the Catholic parishes in which his wife and he resided, most recently as a member of St. Mary's Church Holy Name Society. He was a sergeant and squad leader in the 101st Airborne during the Korean War and later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Besides his wife, he is survived by his seven children and their spouses: Mark Hall and his wife Martha of Boonton, NJ; Joyce Cerroni and her husband Robert of Greenville, RI, and Boca Raton, FL, Lois Hall and her husband Brook of Brookfield, NH, Frederick W. Hall, Jr. and his wife Rita, and Jeffrey Hall, all of Cranston, RI, Charles Hall and his wife Rosemary of Highland Lakes, NJ, and Judith Cooper and her husband David of Maple Grove, MN. He was the loving grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 5. He was also a loving brother of Harry Hall of Cranston, the late Dorothy Godin, and Eva, Edward, and Arthur Hall. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 13th at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary's Church Memorial Fund, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, RI 02920 or Saint Vincent DePaul, Emergency Food Center, 181 Princess Ave., Cranston, RI 02920.
