Gabriel Fortin

FORTIN, GABRIEL M. "GABE" 77, died Saturday, January 28, at home. He was the husband of the late Lois B. (Vivier) Fortin. Born in the Albion village of Lincoln, a son of the late Wilfred and DiNora (Metivier) Fortin, he was a lifelong resident of the village. Mr. Fortin was a schoolteacher for the Central Falls School Dept. for over thirty-five years, and was a graduate of St. Michael's College, Vermont. He was an active communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Albion, serving as the parish organist for fifty years. He also served on the Board of Commissioners for the Albion Fire Dept. for over twenty-five years. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia DeMaire of Pomfret, CT, Christine Bibeault of Pascoag, and Nicole Fortin of Webster, MA; one son, Gregory Fortin of Merrick, N.Y.; one sister, Irene Lacombe of North Smithfield; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was the sister of the late Jeannette LeBrun. His funeral will be held SATURDAY, February 4, at 8:45 a.m. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial will follow in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Albion.
