Giuseppe "Joseph" Gagliardi

GAGLIARDI, "JOSEPH" GIUSEPPE 90, passed away in Seekonk, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the home of his son, Robert and "daughter"-in-law, Heather. He was surrounded by them and much of his loving family, son, Joseph, daughter-in-law Sandra, grandchildren, Ben and Bryn (aka Pipsqueak), and Bryn's fiance, Nicholas Riccitelli, as he journeyed towards passing from this earth to heaven. Joseph, a gentle, loving soul, was the devoted husband of the late Julia (Sutton) Gagliardi to whom he had been married to for 64 years. Together, they resided in Riverside, Rhode Island for 53 years where they raised their "boys". He was the loving brother of Rose Chiello and the late Giovanni (aka, "Johnny"), Bruno, Angelo (aka "Lefty") and Mary. Early in his career, Joe was the owner of Fashion Floors in Cranston, followed by employment at the Fain Corporation. At the age of ninety, he continued to drive and had many hobbies including gardening, DIY weekend projects with Bob (especially those for "Pipsqueak"), listening to big band music, solving math problems and reading the newspaper, cover to cover. His self-deprecating, dry humor and quick-witted responses were endlessly entertaining to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He had impressive organizational skills and meticulously performed everything from cooking to construction and painting projects. An avid iPhone user, he texted and face-timed his family daily, often in search of the latest emojis. His funeral will be held on Saturday November 5, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
