I have many fond childhood memories of countless trips to McCoy Stadium and the Baseball Hall of Fame that Greg had organized and partially financed with his own money. He was simply a very generous soul who made a difference in the lives of many young boys throughout Elmhurst. Rest In Peace, Greg.

Dear Susan, Lenny and family,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Greg's death. There are some people whose lives make such a difference in this world, and Greg's was one of them. He was a force of nature. I remember so many good times playing cards, and going out to eat. It was all more fun because of him.
I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers. May Greg rest in peace and rise in glory.

Our deepest sympathy to all our friends and relatives that knew Greg. He was a great guy. Dedicated many years to the youth of Providence as a basketball coach, baseball manager and key board member to the Elmhurst youth baseball league.
The best thing about Greg is if he counted you as a friend at the same time he treated you like family. I will miss him, his humor, overall happiness. My wife no longer has her book companion. Stay strong and remember him fondly.

Greg was one of those few people you were always, always happy to see and he seemed always happy to see you. He brightened every meeting he was at, every baseball game, and every trip to the concession stand at the ballpark. When I mentioned his passing to my kids both immediately knew who he was and signed deeply the way children do. The world is a less happy place without your bother, uncle, friend, Greg.

Lenny, family and friends:
Greg was loved by all that knew him, he wore his heart on his sleeve and was one of the most loyal employees anyone could ask for. I will never forget his kind ways and how he always made me feel it was okay to interrupt him to ask any question regarding loans etc.. I was blessed to have known him and to have worked with him ??.. Now I wish I did take him up on that offer to arm wrestle.??
My thoughts & prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time of sorrow..

Lenny, Susan and Annmarie: Please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother.
I can't help but use the word “Giant” when I think of Greg. Please understand that I'm using this word not just because of his physical stature but mostly because of his Giant heart when it came to being generous with his time, his home and his wallet when the Boy Scouts or the Little League needed him. I was one of the lucky ones to have been mentored by him in both and am thankful to this day for all of his time and teachings during my youth.
He was always there, all of the time, helping everyone. A true gentleman! The world needs more people like Greg Lombardo. Greg was a Giant part of the successful history of our beloved Troop 76 and will forever be in the memories and hearts of many of its scouts. Certainly in mine! I can go on and on about our many great memories at weekend camp-outs and bean-hole-bakes at ‘Champlin', hikes to ‘Smithfield', Troop trips to Washington DC (with your dad driving the school bus), but one fitting memory that stands out is our undefeated record in ‘chicken fighting' at the Camp Dan Boone water front at ‘Yawgoog'. Greg was a Giant pair of shoulders to hold me up then and will always be a Giant part of my childhood memories. Thank you for everything, Greg. May you Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Lenny & the Lombardo family at Greg's sudden passing. Just about every memory I have of my time in Troop 76 (1976-1982) involved Greg, his brother and father. He certainly inspired me and many others to stick with scouting. It was great to see him at the 76 reunion a couple of summers ago. He will be sorely missed.

My heart goes out to all of you over Gregg's passing. I can't express how fond I was of Gregory. He was a true gentleman and had a great sense of humor. Our Friday night card games were always entertaining and most of that was because of Gregg's great sense of humor and his knowledge of trivia was unbelievable.
Please know that I will keep Gregory and all of you in my prayers.

Sincerely,
