GEORGY, IKHLAS KHALIL
93, of Providence, Rhode Island passed away on June 22, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Youssef Habib Georgy and mother of Habib Youssef Gorgi and Michael Youssef Georgy.
Born on April 5, 1928 in Cairo, Egypt, Ikhlas ("Bouva"), was the daughter of the late Gorgi Khalil Ibrahim and Gamila Habata and the youngest of nine children. While living in Egypt, she loved spending time with her extended family as well as her friends, as she deeply valued all of her relationships.
In January of 1967, Bouva, her husband and two sons immigrated to the United States to pursue a better life for their family. Initially a resident of Providence, Rhode Island, years later, Bouva and her family moved to Cumberland where her husband founded his medical practice. She was deeply devoted to her husband and two boys, spending her days managing her husband's business and shuttling the boys back and forth to Moses Brown School in Providence.
During the summer months, Bouva treasured her time in Narragansett, which reminded her of summers in Alexandria, Egypt. Her and her husband loved hosting friends and family at their beach house, especially their relatives from California and Egypt. Those who knew Bouva will remember her hospitality, loyalty, beautiful smile, gentle but fierce nature and her deep love and care for others.
Bouva's biggest joy in life was being a mom and Teta. Her children and grandchildren were always her primary focus and she sacrificed all aspects of her life to provide them with support, love and guidance.
She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of sixty-six years, Dr. Youssef H. Georgy of Providence and her sons, Habib Y. Gorgi and his wife Susan Gorgi of Providence, and Michael Y. Georgy of the United Arab Emirates, as well as her six grandchildren; Katherine, Youssef, Alexander and Madeleine Gorgi and Habib and Youssef Georgy. She also leaves behind her brother Gamil Khalil of Montreal, Canada, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in California and Egypt whom she adored.
