John Clancy Obituary

CLANCY, JOHN B. 'BERNIE', 72, of Bullocks Point Avenue, Riverside, died Monday, August 27, 2007, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anna B. (Revello) Clancy.

He was born in East Providence, a son of the late Matthew and Louise (Dufresne) Clancy.

Mr. Clancy was a truck driver for Casey Engineered Maintenance, before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an Assistant Scout Master for Troop #3 Seekonk and a Past Senior Counselor for the U.C.T.

He leaves one daughter, Wanda L. Vidal, two sons; John P. Clancy and David S. Wilson, one brother; Matthew Clancy, two sisters; Dorothy Carbone and Elizabeth Raposa, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8 AM from the PERRY/McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Seekonk Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Contributions in Mr. Clancy's memory to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903, would be deeply appreciated.

I would like to extend my sympathies to John's family on their great loss. I knew him as "Bernie" and although we seldom met, I do know he was a wonderful husband to Anna, my first cousin. Bernie will be missed.
