John Solomon Obituary
83, passed away suddenly but peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 26, 2018. He was the husband of Jeanette (Deeb-Budwee) Solomon. They had been married for 62 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Joseph and Naza (Simon) Solomon. John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the State of Rhode Island for 38 years prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the Lebanese – American Community Center. He and his wife were recipients of the Silver Massabki award for their service to St. George Maronite Catholic Church. He was a faithful NAM delegate and member. He was a fierce protector of his entire extended family. He was a true friend to everyone that he met. Besides his wife he was the father of Dr. John J. Solomon and his wife Paula, Sal J. Solomon and his wife Donna, Freda Lombardi and her husband Joe, Marion Solomon, and Peter J. Solomon and his wife Virginia. He was the loving grandfather of Lindsey, Tiffany, Bianca, Michelle, Katherine, Jennifer, Peter Jr., Chelsea, Jenna, and Frank. Great grandfather of Valentina Marie, and Luca John. He was the brother of the Honorable Anthony J. Solomon and his late wife Sarah, Donald J. Solomon and his wife Maryann, his sister – in - law Rose Solomon and her late husband Samuel G. Solomon, he was the brother of the late Jean Azar and her late husband Tanous. He is also survived by his Aunt Eva Simon and her late husband Fred, and the late Hilda Simon.
His funeral will be held on Monday April 30, 2018 at 11:30 AM from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM in St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 1493 Cranston St. Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Sunday 4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George Maronite Catholic Church Building Fund, 1493 Cranston St. Cranston, RI 02920.

Dear Jeanette & Family,
We are very saddened that our cousin John passed away. We always looked forward to seeing the both of you at the Lebanese Heritage Festival in Easton. He was my mother's first cousin but he treated her more like a sister. My mother, father and all of us love and cherish the Solomon Family. I was able to see you both this past December at another sad time when Ellie passed away. I will always cherish that memory. I also cherish the time that I visited your home as a teenager. Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Solomon. He was a true gentleman. For years he would come to my parents' home and also my grandparents' home selling his goods and would come weekly to collect the money. I remember him as always having a smile and being so pleasant. I can remember my mom, when her balance would almost be paid up, she would always order some more towels or sheets (whether we needed them or not) just so she could still have John come every week to collect.

The entire Lebanese Community of Easton, Pa. mourns the loss of our beloved Johnny. I've known him since I was a young child, having spent countless summers at my godmother house down the street from he and his family. All those good times at the beach in Newport, all those wild Mahrajan's all over New England, our Children of Kfarsghab reunions of Easton and Providence, he never missed our Lebanese Heritage Days Festivals in all 40+ years, not one, and he loved coming to Easton as much as we loved seeing him and his family. Some people, you think will live forever, and he was one. Such a good, decent man, who played a mean derbuckie too...and watched us grow as young kids in the very early 60's into adulthood. Everybody loved Johnny Solomon. Everybody. Allah Yerhamouh. My Deepest Sympathies to Jeanette, his son's Johnny, Sal and Peter, his daughters Freda and Marion, the entire Solomon and Simon families and all those who loved this dear, special man.
