Kathleen, Billy and Family,
We would like to send you our deepest sympathy. Joey was a great friend and a very important part of our (Pepsi) team. When he first started on the team he was a little weak because of his disease and we told him to let us know when he needed to sit out and he was very determined to get back to the player he was and he succeeded faster than we could imagine! He was a blessing to the team and this season we were undefeated until we lost the game on the Sunday that Joey wasnt there because of going to the wedding in Mass. so that should tell you just exactly how great he was. We will never forget him coming to the games with his long red socks on. (he tried the color blue but he said he didn't play as well in them so he went back to the red ones) We would pick on him at the games cuz he was playing for the Pepsi team and he drank Diet Coke. When he would miss a ball (which was rare) we would tell him he needed a Diet Coke and the Concession stand carried Diet Coke just for him! We enjoyed his company over at our house for card games and watching the pay per view fights on tv. He would always bring McDonalds chicken nuggets and diet coke. We cannot express to you how much we loved him and will miss him dearly. Can't wait to see you at the games at 17th street park.
Sincerely,
Jim and Kelly DiLorenzo
