Maria Sabetta Obituary
53 formerly of Silver Lake Avenue, Providence passed away April 2, 2017. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Cannata) Sabetta.
Maria earned a BA in mathematics from Rhode Island College and went on to teach for the Foster Glocester Regional School System before retiring due to illness. Maria displayed tremendous courage and a strong will to persevere during her battle with MS.
She was the sister of Raymond H. Sabetta and his wife Diane and Michael J. Sabetta and aunt of Andrew J. Sabetta.
Her funeral will be held Friday 9:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITATION THURSDAY 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's memory to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, RI Chapter, 205 Hallene Road, Suite 209, Warwick, RI 02886; www.nationalmssociety.org.

I am so very sorry to Maria's family for her loss. I attended high school with Maria at SMAV and what a wonderful person she was! We had so many classes together and happy to say...yes....we were all friends in that wonderful school! It is hard to see your classmates leaving this world and going to a brighter place before you!! I am happy to know it will be Maria's smiling face and beautiful head of hair I see when I get there. Godspeed to you Maria and nothing but love to your family!

To the Sabetta Family,
I spent many hours with Maria over the last 4 months and can attest to her perseverance and courage. I will think of her fondly. I admired her strength and her ability to find the humor in almost anything. Please accept my deepest condolences. May she rest in comfort and peace.
