DiCANDIA, MARIE A. (DiLUGLIO)
79, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Mario DiCandia. Mr. and Mrs. DiCandia were married for 49 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Albert and Angela (Zanfagna) DiLuglio, she was raised and lived in Providence before moving to Woonsocket 49 years.
Mrs. DiCandia was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, where she sang in the Chorus and was voted "Miss Congeniality" in her High School Yearbook.
She started working in High School at the former Star Market and later worked at Town & Country Liquor for 10 years. She then went on to work at CVS 10 years, first as a floor manager and cashier before becoming custom service manager before retiring.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter, Maria Hutchinson and her husband, Jay of Millville, MA; one brother, Anthony DiLuglio of Providence; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 17 at 11 A.M. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Her burial will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
