Mary Alexion Obituary

ALEXION, MARY, 79 of New Jersey formerly of Warwick passed away October 23, 2007 at home in New Jersey. She was the beloved wife of George Alexion for over sixty years .

Born in Providence a daughter of the late Angelo and Blanche (Belamo) Rougas.

Mrs. Alexion graduated from Central High School in Providence in 1946 after winning the Anthony Medal for student writing at both the Junior High and Senior High School levels. After raising her children she attended and graduated cum laude from Rhode Island College in 1966. She then taught Special Education in the Warwick Public Schools for seventeen years. In her retirement she lived in Florida and New Jersey.

She was the beloved mother of Gary Alexion and his wife Maureen Healy of Brooklyn, NY and the late Livia Jean. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth and Matthew Alexion. Sister of Lillian Placido of Cranston and John Prialaga of Saugus, MA. She will be remembered by the love she shared with all those who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston. Entombment will be in Swan Point Cemetery Mausoleum, Providence. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY 5-9 p.m. in 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.

In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI or the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Scholarship Fund. www.WoodlawnGattone.com
