Mike was a good horseman, a fair and honest policeman, and a great friend and always a gentleman. I am blessed and thankful for the time we spent together. There is a special place in heaven for him.

Pat, Angela and Donna, I am so sorry for your loss. I first learned of Mike's passing through the tearful words of his beloved niece Adina, when I picked her up at the airport here in Phoenix. She learned about his passing only a few minutes earlier. Adina, as you know, was here in Arizona to run her very first marathon. I watched Adina and my wife at various points along the 26.2 mile course. Not only did Adina finish, but she ran a great race, and later told me that every time she felt like quitting, she continued on, just as her stubborn Uncle Mike would have done. Just before the event began, Adina showed me a nano that her Uncle Mike gave her, that had words inscribed on it that said "Run, Adina, Run."
While I have fond memories of Mike, I regret not having known him better during his time here. May you rest in peace, Cousin Mike, and continue to provide inspiration to others, as you clearly did for Adina.

We never really know how much we miss someone until they are gone forever. We had some great times together growing up. No one can ever take those memories away from me. I'm glad we kept in touch on Facebook and got to chat every once in awhile. I'm going to miss that. I wish I had more time to spend with you, but I know you are in a better place now, free of pain. Rest in Peace, Mike. I'll miss you. Love, your cousin, Diana

To my nephew Michael LaMarra & his family especially Angela, Donna, Pat, and Mikey. We loved Michael very much and were always in awe of him in his long battle for many years. He was a good man and loved all his family very much. We will miss you, Michael, but we know in our hearts you are walking tall and strong and you are in good company with all our family members who have passed before you. God bless you all. Love, Auntie Fill & Uncle Bud.
