Mildred Comey Obituary

COMEY, MILDRED M. (LINCOLN) RN, 87, died October 28, 2008 in the Scandinavian Home in Cranston. She was the widow of Everett E. Comey.

She was born in London, England the daughter of the late Herbert and Anne (Jockimsen) Lincoln and had lived in Warwick for forty years before moving to Narragansett and then Cranston several years ago. A graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in the Class of 1942, she became an operating room nurse for over twenty years at Kent County Hospital retiring in 1982. Mrs. Comey was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick and the Rhode Island Nurses Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen M. Bennett of Narragansett, Susan G. Pigeon of Warwick, son Paul A. Comey of Milpitas, CA, brother Herbert E. Lincoln of OR, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was grandmother to the late Barbara Comey.

Funeral service in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, RI on Saturday at 1PM. Friends will be welcomed one hour prior to the service. Private interment in the Pawtuxet Memorial Cemetery, Warwick. Should friends desire, donations to the Scandinavian Home, 1811 Broad St., Cranston, RI 02905 or to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated. Dear Ellen, Paul and Susan,
Your Mother was a lovely lady with a kind and gentle spirit. We have wonderful memories of her when she visited us in Westborough with your Dad. We always looked forward to seeing the "Rhode Island Comeys". May Aunt Millie rest in peace and may she live in your hearts forever.
