Milton Hannah Obituary

HANNAH, MILTON P. 88, died peacefully on February 23, 2016. He was the son of the late Milton P. and Ethyl Mary Hannah. He is survived by nieces Donna Daniels of Virginia and Heather Walley of California, a nephew Michael Walley of Canada, a grand niece Aszur Hill of New York City, and a grand nephew Jason Walley of Cincinnati. He lived on Benefit Street in Providence since 1946 when he was discharged from the U.S. Navy. He was fondly known as the "Mayor of Benefit Street". He graduated from RISD in 1949 with a degree in Industrial Design and worked at Reed and Barton in Taunton, Massachusetts, starting as a silver designer and serving as Merchandise Manager upon his retirement after 40 years of service. He was active in many organizations including the Providence Preservation Society, the Fox Point Neighborhood Association, Keep Providence Beautiful, and the Providence Art Club. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Providence Art Club, 11 Thomas St., Providence, RI 02903.
