Dakota and Bookey Thomas
December 23, 2007
I was devastated when I recieved the call about one of my favorite cousins passing. We have not seen each other in so long. There was a time when Pookie always knocked on the door or just walked in. LOL. I constantly, hear you yelling but I never seen you refuse the opportunity to help someone know matter how much it frustrated you. I see some of your ways in myself sometimes. That validated that we were truly family. Bookey your brother will miss you dearly. Breaking the news to him was difficult. He loved you so much. It is just sad how we start out as being together all the time and then we start to drift away from one another. Someone told me that just a couple of weeks before you passed that you were in the neighborhood, wondering if we still lived in that same big house on the corner in R.W. Park. You were not sure and kept going. I wish you would have stopped in. Through out the years we missed your stopping by. There were a lot of times we just waited for you to come through. We will both miss you, your smile, your attitude, and most of all the fun times we had. The memory for us that stands out the most, for years, is when we went fishing on the boat in Lincoln woods. Pookey couldn't swim. He was told time and time again to sit his butt down and stop rocking the boat. Pookie didn't listen and fell over in the water. Right away, Bookey started to take his shoes off and was about to jump in for Pookie. Out of no where, Pookie came back up. We laughed so hard, I thought I would piss myself. Pookey told us on the boat that he watched plenty of movies on T.V. and when someone fell in the water, they would go to the bottom. Pookey said he put his arms straight up and it brought him back to surface. Wepulled him in and Thanked god for sparing him. Oh my, we have so many memories. We thank you so much for them and we will see you again in our father house. Love and god bless

To Claudia and the Threats Family
My heartfelt sympathy to the family. Pookie was the son that I never had I loved him dearly and thats all I had to do was to pick up my phone and he was always their. He will be greatly missed with that big smile. One thing that I will never forget is the way he always could never keep still and being a clean freak. He did that well. Pookie may your soul rest in peace. May it give the family peace that he is in a better place than we are.
Love you
Your Mom
