Nicholas Silva Obituary
"NICK", 23, resident of Pascoag, passed away Nov. 28, 2010 at Day Kimball Hospital in CT. Born in Providence, son of Francisco and Kelley (O'Rourke) Silva.
Nick recently graduated from Allegheny College in PA where he earned his Bachelor's Degree and he was a star
football player a graduate of Burrillville High School Class of 2005. He enjoyed wrestling, golfing, and volunteered helping under privilege children.
He is survived by his brothers, Francis Silva and his girlfriend Elizabeth Callow of Wellesley MA, and Jonathan Silva and his wife Amanda of Foster, paternal grandparents, Frank & Martha (Graves) Silva of E. Providence, maternal grandfather Vincent E. O'Rourke of Pascoag, he is also survived by several, aunts, uncles and cousins, and two beautiful nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Arline (Pytka) O'Rourke.
His funeral will be held Friday at 10:30am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. No. Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm in St. Joseph's Church in Pascoag. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery in Chepachet. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to "FCGF Nicholas Ryan Silva Scholarship Fund", reference # 1035330 send to Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund P.O. Box 770001 Cincinnati OH 45277-0053. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-8pm.

Dear Silva Family,
I met Nick just once, his freshman year, he and my son Joe met during football camp; he stayed at my home overnight to catch a flight back to Rhode Island early the next morning. He left quite an impression; he was polite, respectful, sweet and very funny. He obviously was a wonderful person to make such a lasting impression on all of us that just met him once over wings and soda. My sincere sympathies to all of you. I can only imagine the pain you are suffering; please know that all of you are in our prayers; especially Nick.

My deepest sympathies and condolences on the passing of "Big Nick"...I was one of his fans at Allegheny College football games his senior year as my son, Joe Moran, was one of his "back-up" freshman teammates on the defensive line. My son would speak so highly of Nick as not only a great college football player but a real kind guy who would encourage and "look out" for the younger guys...his humility and caring manner made as great an impression on my boy as much as his ability and leadership did on the gridiron...God bless him and you.

We were so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. Our son Sean was fortunate enough to play football with Nick at Williston and Allegheny. Nick hosted the three of us when we went to visit Allegheny for the first time, and he really made all of us feel so welcome. I know Sean was very fond of Nick, and really looked up to him. When my son Keith Beach, told me of this tragedy, I started crying and cried all day. Nick recruited Keith to Allegheny football. I came to know Nick and grew to love him. We greeting again on the field of his last game. He was smiling and looking in the stands. I said "Nick, I know your parents would be here if they could." He smiled and said "Yeah" My Dad surely would have." He contiuned to express his plans after graduation. We hugged and I told him I was always watching him for you!
