Paul Pickens Obituary

PICKENS, PAUL G. formerly of Lincoln, RI died June 8. He was born 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. Survivors include wife, Lynne Santosuosso Pickens, daughter Rebecca Pickens (David Nelson) grandsons: Elias, Josiah and Walden Nelson, brother Bob (Cheryl) Pickens; sister Kathryn (Harold) Ribble. He was Executive Director of Vocational Resources and President of Goodwill Industries of Rhode Island over 30 years. Also was a psychotherapist with Plaza Psychiatry. Faithfully served as deacon at Christ Church, Lincoln, for 25 years. He authored three books. Paul was an avid horse lover and was loved by the children and their parents to whom he gave pony rides. Memorial Service is Saturday, June 21, 10:30 AM, First Presbyterian Church of Canton, NY. Donations suggested to First Presbyterian Church, 17 Park St., Canton, NY 13617 or Christ Church Memorial Fund, 1643 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, RI 02865. I knew Mr Pickens during the time I was at vocational resources after graduating from high school in 1991. He was a wonderful person 2 kno. Being handicapped showed me that it was possible 2 find a job by going there & knowing him.

Dear Lynn and Family:
We were so saddened to read in the paper about Pauls passing, he was such a nice person and enjoyed life to its fullest. I hope you were able to enjoy sometime together in your new home, I know how much you wanted to be up there with your family. RIP Paul
