Peter Carpentier Obituary
passed from this Life on December 16, 2019. For 70 years he was the loving husband of Mary ( Fabrizio ) Carpentier. He is remembered by his 3 sons Peter J. Carpentier (Brenda), Dr. David Carpentier, and Paul Carpentier (Dennis) all of Cranston and his daughter Sharon Carpentier of Riverside. Peter cherished his 3 grandchildren, Dr. Bianca Carpentier, Blake Carpentier and Taylor Carpentier. Born in the Thornton section of Johnston, Peter was the son of Peter E. and Angelina ( Pezzullo ) Carpentier. He was the brother of Beatrice D'Arezzo, Marie Cerra and the late Archie Carpentier and Dolores Lepere. Known as "Pete" to his numerous friends, Peter was an extraordinary designer and draftsman with an unparelleled attention to detail. Self taught, his passion for good design was evident in everything he aimed to accomplish. Peter served in the US Armed Forces as a topographer in Occupied Japan. He was a proud member of AMVETS. For 68 years, Peter worked in the commercial sign and outdoor advertising industries as operations manager of the former Weybosset Sign Company and Standish-Johnson Outdoor Advertising in Providence. With his son Peter, he was the co-founder of b. Sign Graphics, Inc. As a trustee of Saint Mary's Church, Cranston until his death, Peter worked tirelessly in the development of the parish community both locally and throughout the diocese. One of the oldest members of the Holy Name Society, among his numerous leadership roles was the development and execution of the parish lector, youth and eucharistic ministry programs. Peter was a great inspiration to his friends and family, impressing in his children the desire to always do the best you can. A dynamic conversationalist, his friendships were paramount to him. His family invites everyone to a Celebration of his life on Saturday at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11.00am in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Visiting hours will be Friday, December 20, 4-7 pm. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Special thanks to Dr. Dawna Blake and the caring staff of the Providence VA Hospital as well as the staff of the Philip J. Hulitar Hospice Center. My whole family was so in love with Pete. He was always joking and laughing. He was a wonderful hard-working man.

I'm crushed to hear that my buddy Peter has left us. I had the pleasure of being his barber for over 3 years and I will always remember our conversations. He was such a kind-hearted, genuine man, and he absolutely cherished his family and friends. I'll miss you, Peter. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Carpentier family. God bless you all.

My Brother-in -Law Pete was most talented man, exhibiting great genius and finesse in all his works of "ART" PETE EXCELLED ABOVE ALL WITH HIS INNATE GOD GIVEN TALENT!
KNOWN AS A SIGN MAKER WAS ONLY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG AS TO HIS MULTIPLE ARTISTIC TALENTS. He was always there, openly assisting others with his expertise ! I recall how Pete completely refurbished the statue of the Madonna Della Civita for St Mary's Church, beautifully done! He personally designed cemetery Stone for my wife, his sister-in-law ! Simple and beautiful! He also designed along with his son Peter, my nephew , driving school logo as well as logo for my son's and me wine making. Pete was also very caring, for when I was traveling to the University of Connecticut, my car became disabled, and Pete said, "don't worry, here's by car for you to use! Pete was also genuine Catholic/ Christian who was instrumental in developing a curriculum for catechism classes, and he had me teaching Sunday mornings!
Pete loved his family, his children, his nieces and nephews and was so proud of their accomplishments! Pete worked very diligently to help St Mary's Church to be what it is! A devout Catholic, and lived his with Christian ideals of helping others to achieve all they could within their abilities!
Pete , yes was an extraordinary unique man who I was not only proud but also honored to have him as My Brother- In - law.
I I'll dearly miss Pete and the many conversations we had together! Not always in agreement but never disagreeable , always with mutual respect !
May all the Angles and Saints come and carry Pete to Heaven above to be seated at the table with our Lord Jesus Christ where he rightfully belongs! May Pete Rest in Eternal Peace, and May Perpetual light always Shine upon him !

Numerous memories of Pete flood my mind. The obit says a lot. I add that the Cursillo changed Pete's outlook on life about himself, his Family, his society and his Church. This man of God never turned back! God rest his mighty soul and bless with peace all of you who mourn his passing.
