Rene was my Godfather and my Dad Carlton Owen was his Platoon Commander in the 336 Combat Army Engineers. My Dad died when I was 3 years old taking ill after the D-Day invasion. Rene (Daddy Dee) to me often told me stories of my Father and how thay landed on D-Day in the same landing craft. I will keep these stories in my heart and came to know my Dad through Rene. These men were part of what has been called "The Greatest Generation". To me they certainly were.
My condolences to Rene's children and grand children at the loss of this fine man. I mourn the loss of Rene and the contact I had through him with my Father. I am sure the two War Buddies are reunited.

Dear Suzanne, David and Family,
My condolences are with you during these difficult days. I am with you in spirit. May your memories of Pop fill your heart and comfort you. I have such wonderful thoughts of our younger years and the many night time phone calls bring me wonderful memories of your folks and mine. Thank you Rene for your military service. World War II veterans made a great sacrifice for our Country.
With much love, prayers, respect and deepest sympathy,
Linda (Ace of Spades)
