Robert Lowe

LOWE, ROBERT, 63, of Huber Avenue, Providence, died on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Gervasio) Lowe.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Keyak) Lowe, he lived in Cranston before moving to Providence 21 years ago. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Providence, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Lowe was employed in mechanical engineering at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick for the last eight years. He was previously employed at Peterbilt Truck Co. in Johnston. An avid hockey player, he played in several leagues for over 30 years in Warwick, Cranston, and Smithfield. He was a collector of antique cars and hot rods.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer A. (Lowe) Almonte of Warwick and Heather A. Lowe of Naples, FL; a brother, Thomas Lowe, Jr. of Coventry; a nephew, Thomas Lowe, III; several other nephews and nieces; and his dachshund, 'Petey'.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 4, at 8:45 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Visiting hours are Monday 5-9 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
