Robert Simas Obituary
He was the husband of the late Georgette C. (Benoit) Simas. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Manuel W. and Mary G. (Costa) Simas. He was a lifelong resident of West Warwick.
Mr. Simas was the proprietor of the former Benoits Cafe in West Warwick for many years before retiring in 1999. He was an Army Veteran serving with the 462 Army Medical Corps and was an avid Red Sox fan.
He leaves two sons, David A. Simas, W.W.F.D. (Ret.) and his wife Jackie and Mark E. Simas and his wife Carole both of West Warwick; a daughter, Sharon P. Soulliere and her husband Alfred of Scituate; a brother, Ernest Simas of Warwick; a sister, Gloria Tardiff of West Greenwich and three grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Simas and Jacob Mulaz. He was the companion of the late Emma Luz and brother of the late Deputy Chief Manuel W. Simas, Jr., W.W.P.D., (Ret.) and Eugene T. Simas.
His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am in the HENAULT GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours Friday 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Legion Post 2, Attn: Cannon Restoration Fund, Two Legion Way, West Warwick, RI 02893 in his memory would be appreciated. Dear Ernie, Cathy, Mike and Simas family members:
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. We would have been there for you but we did not find out until after the wake and funeral. I hope you are able to take comfort in the fact that Bob is in a much better place now.

Dear Mark & Carole:
I want to thank you for the wonderful support and love that you
showed your dad.
Mark, I know it wasn't always easy, but you were always there for your dad, besides all the running you did for him, I know that just your visits and phone calls, along with his trips to your home meant so much to him.
Again, I know that as a son, one might think that you were oblidged to
look after your dad, but we know that you and Carole did this out of love and not obligation.
