Santina Mulligan Obituary

MULLIGAN, SANTINA "SANTA"
75, passed away on June 14, 2017 at her home in Cranston, RI after a battle with cancer.
Santina was born and raised in Cranston, staying close to home and the people she called family. A loving mother and sister, Santina's family was her true pride and joy. She was an active member of the community at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, attending services and volunteering in the food pantry. A lifelong animal lover, Santina had many pets throughout her life and her loyal dog, Noel, was by her side until her last day. When she wasn't volunteering or spending time with her family and dog, Santina could be found at the Cranston YMCA, where she spent many days in the pool, working out and sharing some laughs with people who grew to be dear friends. Her warm laughter, inspiring strength, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be missed by all who knew her.
Her parents, Flora Rodgers and Leonard Croft Sr., as well as her beloved husband James "Chubby" Mulligan, precede her in death. She is survived by her three children: James Mulligan of Hillsboro, New Hampshire, Kelly Fortin of Cranston, RI, and Santina Brohen of San Francisco, CA. She also leaves behind five siblings: Frederick Croft, James Rodgers, M.D., Leonard Croft, Jr., Kathleen Melikian, and Richard Croft.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 6/22, at St. Mark's located at 9 Garden Ct, Cranston, RI 02920. In lieu of flowers, Santina requested that donations be made to the ASPCA via www.aspca.org.

My deepest sympathies to Santina's family. She was such a joy to be around. Her zest for life and exuberant personality were so infectious to everyone around her that you could not help but be uplifted by her spirit. There is a great void at the YMCA now without her. She had the most giving heart. I feel so blessed and privileged to have had the opportunity to have had her in my life. I will miss her so very very much.

Santina~you were always the bright spot in my day when you came into the office. I always enjoyed our chats, whether on the phone, or randomly seeing each other at the grocery store....Your zest for life, your bubbly personality will surely be missed. The world just became a little bit dimmer, because you are no longer here. My deepest sympathies go out to your family. Thank you for the laughs over the few short years I knew you through your Doctor's office... You will be missed...
