Renee,
Sorry to hear about your Memere. Although we know that eventually this day will come, it doesn't make it any easier. As you know, there is nothing better than having a Memere. When I read your description about your Memere, it made me smile and reminded me a lot about mine; and the truth that they really do have Unconditional Love for us. "Thank God for giving us Memeres!". We all know how truly special they are and that our special memories of them will live on forever. Hoping that your memories will bring you much comfort during this difficult time. I am sure she is smiling down upon you and your family.

MOM,
I CAN'T BEGIN TO EVER WRITE THE SPECIAL BOND OF LOVE WE HAD FOR EACH OTHER. YOU WERE MY COMFORT AND I YOUR'S. THE TIMES IJUST HAD TO GO SEE YOU BECAUSE I KNEW YOU NEEDED ME,AND, WHEN I GOT THERE YOU WOULD BE CRYING BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO SEE ME. THERE WERE SO MANY TIMES LIKE THAT.
THROUGH THE YEARS YOU HAD BEEN VERY SICK AND ALWAYS I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LEAVE ME. MY THOUGHTS WERE THAT I COULD NEVER LIVE WITHOUT YOU. THIS TIME MOM, IT WAS MY WISH FOR YOU TO LEAVE, IKNEW THIS WAS NOT THE KIND OF LIFE YOU WANTED. YOU WILL BE WITH ME UNTIL MY LAST BREATH. ILOVE YOU. TILL WE MEET AGAIN, WATCH OVER ME, MY WONDERFUL MOM. I LOVE YOU

Anyone that knew my meme, knew the following to be true: She loved her junk food, her Cashmere Bouquet powder and she loved her family and friends unconditionally.

My childhood memories are filled with special moments spent with my meme. I remember every time I slept over we would wait with excited anticipation for my uncle to go out so we could make hot fudge sundaes or cinnamon rolls --sometimes both. We would talk and watch television until we fell asleep on her couch.

In the morning I would wake up to the sound of her singing and the smell of coffee made in her stovetop perk coffeemaker. By age six I was hooked on coffee and "toast on the iron."

Meme and I would sit face to face in our rocking chairs by the windows. She was my best friend and confidante. Her lap was always a welcome place for me sit and be comforted when I was sad.

She taught me how to play the spoons and sing a couple of songs in french, both of which I am teaching my children. I loved to her her yodel, something she could never teach me to do.

No matter if you visited with meme for one hour or five she always said, "Why are you leaving so soon?" and "Make sure you come visit me again soon."

So, even though my meme was with us for 82 years, it still seems like she left us too soon and I look forward to visiting her again.

I love you Meme.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Jen loved her Meme! It's never easy losing someone you love. Revil in the fact that she is happy where she is and suffering no more. Know that she will always be with you!
