She was known as "Auntie Norma AN" to the Medeiros clan. Orphaned when she was 11 and raised by my mother (her sister) Helen. A part of my life from the day I was born since she lived with us. She was a second mother to Linda, Steve & I. She was my godmother at 16 and 16 years later, I was Beth's godmother and then AN was my son Ken's godmother. I remember as a little girl in church w/her hearing her sing. She had a beautiful voice as the St. Pat's choir knows so well. Then she met the love of her life, Manny (UM). Then came Ray & Beth Ann and we were all 1 big family (the Medeiros's and Cordeiro's). Ocean Grove, Horseneck Beach, Purgatory Chasm, Xmas dinners..so many happy memories. She was always willing to help and listen and hug. We could count on her for anything AND everything. She was at my high school grad. when my mother wasn't; she took me to Boston for a grad. present to see Paul Anka; she lent me her automatic shift car in 1963 so I could get my license before having my 2nd baby. We shared a love of music (Phantom of the Opera, Josh Groban, Michael Crawford); ice skating, Boston. She and UM gave me a place to stay when I came back from Miami even tho I had 2 cats and they were not animal lovers. At their 50th wedding anniv. party (just 2 mos. before she would lose UM), they danced along to Could I Have this Dance for the Rest of my LIfe. And now they are doing just that together in heaven. Yes, I cry and grieve for her/them..but I try to remember these lyrics When I Get where I'm Going, There'll be Only HAPPY Tears..Don't Cry for me down there. So, those of us who cry...lets only cry happy tears for her. She was the most positive influence in my life. When she made a promise, she always kept it. AN, thank you for your unconditional and everlasting love. You always made me feel so special.

Norma, whenever I would see you, you would say - How is my Son doing? Well, I know you know the answer to that now and he is doing OK!! He misses you, as I do but he knows you are where you longed to be for so long. Kiss Manny for us. We love you Norma.

Mom, I can't believe you are gone. But I know that you are happier than ever. To see your Saviour face to face and then to see your hubby of 50 years how beautiful, majestic, an honor that must be. I am happy for you and sad for myself and little Alexis that she will not have the privilege of knowing the best gram there ever was. Sad for me to not see your beautiful face. I take comfort knowing that one day I will see you again. I love you very much.
