Virginia Sweeney Obituary

SWEENEY, VIRGINIA M. passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Ethel M. (Wakefield) Sweeney. She was the beloved sister of Mary E. Reynolds and the late Paul W., Francis G., William J., James V. and Elizabeth A. Sweeney; aunt of William C. Reynolds and Sandra J. Rice; great aunt of Edward Rice III, Scott Rice, Jonathan Reynolds and Justin Reynolds. Virginia was an assembler for the Monowatt Division of GE for 42 years and a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center, Gaspee Seniors, Friends of the Warwick Senior Centers, Inc. and the RSVP. Her last days were spent at the Sunnyview Nursing Home and the kindness and loving care she received was a great comfort. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 8:30-9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sunnyview Nursing Home Activities Fund, 83 Corona Street, Warwick, RI, 02886, will be appreciated. Aunt Ginny, your were the best Aunt ever, alway's here for me, and my Family, thank you for all you did for us, Christmas was your special time, you alway's made it so special for us.. each of us have special memory of gift wrapping,Christmas display's, and for me my knee high stocking's lol, I Love You, fovever in my heart..
