Dear Carlene and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I recall with fondness the friendship that Bill and Jim had developed over the course of their careers in law. Browsing over some of the remarks in this guest book, I can clearly see that Bill was deeply respected and admired by those whose lives he touched. May God give you strength, courage, and comfort in the days ahead.

I had nothing but admiration and respect for Honorable William Dimitri, Jr. I first met him when serving as a juror on two cases he presided over and my experience was a great one. Judge Dimitri always made me feeling welcome in his court and he always made me proud that I pursued a career in the feild of law. My heartfelt sorrows go out to all his loved ones. He will be missed by all.

Dimitri Family: What a great man. And what a small world. My kids went to Prime Time Pre-School with the judge's grandchild. Not to mention that we are all related. Delores...you were great to be with when I was with my Aunt Claire in Alameda. My maiden name is Rianna. So, between the Dimitri's, Jackavony's, Capece's, and Rianna's, please accept my deepest sympathy to all of you.

To Carlene and family,
Your husband and father was a wonderful man. I had the honor of meeting him as a young girl through the Jackvony family. Soon he and the entire Dimitri family came to become very close to my heart. Even after my life with the Jackvony's ended, Billy, Billy Jr., and Carlene were still helpful to me when I needed them and as caring and loving as they had always been. Billy was truly one of a kind. My sincerest sympathies to you all.

Dear Doreen,
The twinkle in your Dad's eyes, his warm and tender smile, the kind words he always had for everyone will never be forgotten.

Judge Dimitri was a kind, decent, hardworking, patient, and compassionate person, who as a judge treated everyone who appeared before him, even the lowest and most repugnant criminal defendant, with dignity and respect. In a field where many individuals forget where they came from just as soon as they put the black robe on, Judge Dimitri never did. He had a special place in his heart for those suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. He treated them with compassion and did everything in his power as a judge to make sure they received the treatment they needed. Our state has lost a wonderful jurist and a good and decent man.

I had some of my favorite political debates with Bill, and even though we rarely agreed, I loved working on his campaigns. Beyond politics, talking with him at family gatherings or just running into him at a restaurant was always a pleasure. His insight, sincerity, warmth and humor made me feel that I was in the company of a very special man.
