William Gordon Obituary
passed away peacefully at the age of 57 on May 8, 2018. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Shirley B (Manchester) and William W Gordon. He was the beloved brother of Mary Beth Manuel (Arthur), Sharon Gordon, and Gail Kelly of Bristol, and Gerri Gordon (John Barney) of Warwick. He was also the brother of the late Susan Gordon. Moose also leaves his nephew, Kevin Manuel of Arlington, VA and his niece and godchild, Lauren Manuel of Franklin, MA.
Moose worked as a Toll Collector for the RI Turnpike & Bridge Authority until retirement. He was a longtime member of the Bristol Elks, and Elk of the Year 1995. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Ever-Ready Engine Co in Bristol, and a member of the 21 Man Club.
Though he had many health challenges over the years, he always remained positive, at the ready with a joke, and made sure to always leave everyone laughing. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he rarely missed a game. Also a fierce news junkie, Moose never failed to read the Providence Journal and the Bristol Phoenix.
Calling hours will be at Smith Funeral Home in Warren on Saturday, May 12th from 2-5 PM, and burial will be private.

I relocated to Bristol in 1982, was going to RWU and worked at AM/PM..Moose would come in to AM/PM just to say hello..he used to give me extra tokens for the bridge..always smiling..laughing and spreading positive energy. We became very good friends always offering hugs when we saw each other. He had a heart of gold & if he could help you in any way, he would. My heart hurts on losing Moose but I will ALWAYS remember how he made me smile..Thank You Moose may you RIP...

I am truly sad to hear of the passing of Moose. I first met him as he worked at the Mt. Hope Bridge Toll Booth. He always had a clever sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Thanks for the laughs Moose. You will never be forgotten brother. Rest in peace.

I will never forget the kid from the San Juan gang who used to go everywhere with us despite his handicap and constantly made us laugh. He was a true friend from a great family and will be sincerely missed but never forgotten.
