William Lake Obituary

LAKE, WILLIAM H., 74,

died peacefully Sunday, November 28, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Hackett) Lake.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Waldo Lake and Margaret (Hussey)

Lake Huyler.

A 1954 graduate of LaSalle Academy, Bill worked in the service department for the Providence Gas Company for thirty six-years, and became a supervisor for the last six years of his career, retiring in 1991.

He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, was a communicant of Sts. John & Paul Church, an active scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. One of his hobbies was fishing, which he enjoyed with his family and friends.

He was the loving father of eight children, William and his wife Paula, Edward (Ted) and his wife Sherry, Thomas and his wife Laurie, Robert and his wife Paula, Mary James and her late husband Randall, Patricia Kell and her husband Robert, Kathryn Alvarez and her husband James, and Lynne Wolfmeier and her husband Chad; and loving grandfather of Nate, Ted, Kathy, Kara, Katie, Jack, Nick, Amanda, Jim, Kevin, Cody, Casy, Calli-Ann, Cammi-Jean, Austin, Lauren, Shannon, Jillian, Chloe, Oliver, Grace, William, and the late Michael Andrew. He also leaves three brothers, Waldo Lake, John Lake and Joseph Huyler. He was a brother of the late Donald Lake, Leonard Lake, Madeline Hathaway and Dorothy Ramsey.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sts. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.

Visiting hours Tuesday, 4 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rhode Island Shrine Center, 1 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI 02905 in his memory will be appreciated.
