Zachary Volpe Obituary
Mr. Volpe was a Gunners' Mate in the US Navy during WWII and a lifelong member of the Wanskuck Boys Club.
Zachary, a Barber by trade, worked side by side with his late brother, Hugo for over sixty years, at Hugo's Barber Shop on Branch Avenue in the North End of Providence.
Besides his wife, he leaves 2 sons, David Z. Volpe and his wife Jean and Kenneth Z. Volpe and his wife Mary Jean; 2 sisters, Alice Boffi and Vera Uttley; and 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Brian, Meredith, Benjamin, and William Volpe. He was the brother of the late Anna Albano, John, Oswaldo, Hugo, Mario, and Alfred Volpe.
Visitation Saturday MORNING, 8-10AM, in the A.A. MARIANI & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. in Providence, followed by a Service at 10:30 AM in The Emmanuel Baptist Church, 529 Charles St., Providence. Although I never met your father, I'm sure his spirit is reflected in you based on what I've heard and read about him. I remember quite a few times you sharing fond stories of growing up around the barber shop with your father and uncle. Always the twinkle in your eye and smile on your face --- memories to treasure.

What an extraodinary man,neighbor,
friend and, of course barber. I got my first haircut at Hugo's in 1939, I'm told, and that continued until the brothers two retired. Zachary never failed to be professional and respectful. Dear Aunty Anna, David & Kenny,
I am so sorry and sad to hear of Uncle Zach's passing. I always admired him for his easy-going, warm & caring personality. I am sure he will be missed very much.
My mother & I want very much to attend his services but will need to wait for the outcome of this storm. We are expecting 12" here tonight & she is leery of going out. We'll do our best. Please know that our prayers are with you.

To my niece Susan and the Volpe family; I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Uncle Zack.In our growing up years we would see him at least two or three times weekly. He always had a smile for everyone. My his soul rest in peace.
