DALLAS — John A. Achuff, 74, of Newberry Estates, Dallas, loving husband, father and grandfather, entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John and his wife Lucy moved to Pinehurst, N.C., in 2002, and resided on Pinehurst Number 6 golf course. John enjoyed his game of golf especially with his best friend, John Maniskas. He and John spent many great times together. When the U.S. Open was held at Pinehurst Number 2, he enjoyed being a volunteer.
After his retirement, John and Lucy moved back to Dallas to be closer to family. He adored his children and grand kids and loved spending time with them.
Surviving are his wife Lucille (Lucy) of 52 years; daughter Melissa Langton and her husband Ray, of Dallas, Texas; son Brian Achuff and his wife Khara, of Larksville; grandchildren, Jack and Lily Langton, Konner, Tia, Finn, and Tate Achuff. The family would like to thank the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Oncology Department for their excellent care and support. A private service is being planned for family and close friends at a date to be announced.
Though he was ready our hearts were not, a piece of us went with him the day God called him home.

Dear Lucy and family,
It's been a very long time since we've seen Jack or family. Our lives fly by too quickly and before you know it, it's time to leave. In the past, when Jack came to our cabin, we had some memorable times. He always brought an amiable, friendly attitude, ready to share any adventure. Memories can help ease the pain of his loss for you and I'm sure you have many good ones since he was a good husband, father and grandfather. You have our most sincere sympathy.

Dear Lucy & Family
So sorry to hear of John's passing.
Not only was John my co worker when I managed the W-B store but also a friend and a great supporter. He also was instrumental in helping me get transferred to Fla. where I am now happily retired.
Both Lynne and I send our sincerest sympathy for your loss.
Sincerely,
Bill House

Lucy & Family: Very sad to learn the news of my old friend, John. We became friends in the mid 60's, he drove me to the Avoca airport when I left to serve on active duty in the military in April 1969, and later bestowed the honor of having me serve as his best man. Please know his memory will be held in the highest regard. Rest in peace dear friend.

I was saddened to hear of Jack´s passing. I grew up on the same street with Jack in the Fernbrook section of Dallas Township. It has been many years since I last saw him but I have fond memories of our childhood. Sincere condolences are extended to his family and friends during this sad time. May God bless them with the peace and comfort only He can provide.
