I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. My deepest condolences to the entire family. My brother Bernie passed away May 15 and John did the flowers for our family. My parents always used Lucille over many years & when I was married in W-B in 1996 we naturally went to Lucille for flowers. My father passed 4 years ago and we came to the shop to arrange the flowers. John worked with us , was so kind and created the most gorgeous arrangements. My family was so touched because he sent a bouquet personally, as well. The flowers for my brother Bernie were very special , too. I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you..

I have many fond memories of John as a child; we were classmates at Wyoming Area Catholic. Besides his kind, funny and easy-going personality, one memory stands out. Mr. Gaughan had our class play softball for gym, not being the athletic child I was, John, as team captain, picked me as the catcher (thinking that was the safest position to put me in that wouldn't cost his team the game). However, he didn't know how wrong he was, as a foul ball popped up both he and I ran for the ball. I caught it. The last out of the game and we won. As most precocious boys do, he exaggerated his expression of joy by clapping his hands together, dropping to his knees, looking toward the sky and said “thank God for you”.

No, thank God for you John, you will be missed.

We usually focus on the date of birth and the date of death. It's really the dash that counts, it's called life. I'm grateful to be part of John's dash and to have him part of my dash. Fly and be free!! The universe is vast and full of good energy

To all who loved John: My association and friendship began with John playing soccer for myself and Joe Gallagher at Bishop O'Reilly High School. John had the desire and was a very coachable person. I remember looking into John's eyes and giving him instructions that I wanted him to perform on the field. John would nod and go out and execute to the best of his ability. John carried that same attitude and desire throughout his life. I will miss seeing him and I will certainly miss his smile and his humor. Rest In Peace John.

John and I were friends through politics, and he was one of the best...He was a good and kind man who worried about people less fortunate than he. I will miss him at lunch and his view points on many subjects...We disagreed on many issues, but he always listened and was most insightful.

May he rest in Peace
