DALLAS — John (Jack) D. Kopacz, 66, of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at his home. Born Dec. 22, 1951, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Lucy Rose Kopacz.
Jack was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West H.S. and Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
He retired from Altec Inc. and was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie Valick-Kopacz; sister, Rose Ann Szychowski and husband, Gerald, of Arizona; nieces, Michelle Han and husband, Ken, and Holly Curtis and husband, Dana; 10 great-nephews; and one great-niece.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until funeral service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the S.J. Grontkowski F.H., 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, with Pastor William Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Back Mountain Bloomers, P.O. Box 210, Dallas, PA 18612, to dedicate a bench in memory of John (Jack) Kopacz on the Mile 7 of the Back Mountain Anthracite Trail.
