John LaNunziata Obituary

EXETER — John P. LaNunziata, 81, of Exeter, passed away Friday evening, July 14, 2017.

Born in West Pittston, on Nov. 18, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Angela (Pisano) LaNunziata. He was a graduate of Exeter High School, class of 1953.

Jack was self-employed in the local garment industry. He owned Star Garment, which was located in Exeter. He retired in 1990. Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

Even in his retirement years, he enjoyed grass cutting and yard work for himself and his neighbors. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.

In addition to his parents, J.L. was preceded in death by sons, James and John "Bubba."

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lorraine (Santine) LaNunziata; son, Jeffrey LaNunziata, of Exeter; daughters-in-law, Barbara Scott LaNunziata, of Jenkins, Tami LaNunziata, of Wilmington, N.C., and Nancy LaNunziata, of Exeter; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason and Jeffrey LaNunziata; sisters, Louise Allison, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rita Innamorati, of Swoyersville; brother-in-law, Ben Santine and his wife, Shirley, of Exeter; stepgrandchildren, Jillian Be, Jessica Be; and stepgreat-granddaughter, Gloria Be; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William St., Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
