JENKINS TWP. — Mary E. O'Brien, 78, of Inkerman, Jenkins Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 31, 2024, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born on Aug. 12, 1945, in Jenkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Lehman and Alice (Gatch) Hall. Mary was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, and was employed at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township, for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Ernest, Phillip, and Robert Aksomitis, and Francis Hall.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Terrance E. O'Brien, Inkerman; sons: Terry O'Brien and his wife Liz, Throop; Kenny O'Brien and his wife Lisa, Arizona; and Phil O'Brien, Inkerman; grandchildren: Rory, Conor, Sofia, and Olivia; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640, in Mary's memory.
