Anna Maring Obituary

Anna Kathryn Maring, 98, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2012, at Falling Spring Nursing Home. Born March 5, 1913 in Mount Joy Twp., Adams, Co., PA, daughter of the late Emory E. and Ella A. (Snyder) Sachs. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Clarence M. Maring; son, Franklin Maring, Sr.; grandson, Robert Maring; son-in-law, Ralph Moore; 2 brothers, Lester and Milton Sachs; and 1 sister, Sarah Reaver. Surviving Anna are daughter, Betty Moore; daughter-in-law, June Maring; 8 grandchildren, Betty Moore, Bill Moore, Carol A. Truett, Franklin Maring, Jr., William Maring, Laura Keller, Anna Egolf, and Evan Egolf; 7 great grandchildren, Rusty Truett IV, Michael Truett, Joshua Maring-Root, Shaye Egolf, Sarah Keller, and Adam Maring; 4 great-great grandchildren Ceagen Truett, Walker Truett, Ileigh Truett, and Ethan Maring-Root. Anna was a school teacher at Round Top and Greenbush Schools and worked during WWII. She also lived and worked on the family farm for 22 years. Anna also worked for the Shook Homes, and Howard Johnson's. She was a volunteer as an Election Clerk and met President and Mamie Eisenhower. Anna even babysat into her 80's and liked to garden, crochet, read and was an excellent cook. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on January 29, 2012 at Mt. Joy Lutheran Church, 2615 Taneytown Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna's honor to Mt. Joy Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of PA, Inc.

June and family-Deepest sympathy on granny's passing. The kids have such fond memories. Bailey loved sitting on her lap during nap time. She has touched many children's lives. She will be missed by many.

Anna Sachs Maring had a magnificent gift of empowering others through her gentle demeanor and giving spirit. Generations of children gained guidance and instruction under her tutelage. She was a rare and brilliant star who dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Her passing leaves a yearning , yet sadly familiar human pain , that transcends understanding. We shall miss Aunt and Great Aunt Anna...to the end of time and until the beginning of sweet eternity when we shall surely meet again...

My condolences to the Maring family. Granny Maring taught me how to make fudge over 30 years ago and I still think of her whenever I've made it throughout the years for family and friends. She was a very kind and sweet lady.

Granny was an absolute wonderful woman! She was like another grandmother to me while growing up. Everyday when I got to June's, she would ask me if I had a new boo boo b/c I was always doing something that I ended up getting hurt. Her nickname for me was Boo Boo and I have never forgotten that she called me that. I have many fond memories (& funny ones too) of her that I will never forget. She will definately be missed. Love you Granny. Rest In Peace.

I have known "Granny" for 40+ years and it was an honor. She was a great person and was always smiling when I stopped in to see her. She will be missed dearly and will have a very special place in my heart for eternity along side Bob. Heartfelt sympathies go out to all the family.
