Edgar Wright Obituary

Edgar M. “Ed” Wright, age 59, of 6416 Burning Tree Terrace, Fayetteville, PA, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2009 in his home. Born on August 5, 1950 in Nicholas County, WV, he was a son of Lenore Sanders Wright of Summersville, WV, and the late John W. Wright. A graduate of Nicholas County (WV) High School, Ed attended West Virginia University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, earning numerous medals during tours in Vietnam. A lifelong WVU fan, he enjoyed studying genealogy. He was a member of numerous local veterans’ organizations and clubs. Ed was employed as an insurance agent with Red Oak Insurance Agency in Chambersburg for the last 10 years. Previously he worked for Allstate, Unitas National Bank, and Citizen’s National Bank. Aside from his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ellen Galinsky Wright, whom he married on July 22, 1977; two children, Kara (and husband, Patrick) Gray of Columbus, OH and John Wesley “Wes” Wright (and girlfriend, Tandra Yocum) of Fayetteville; one brother, Robert Wright of Charleston, WV; two sisters, Lana Cox of New Market, VA and Myra Grant of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. The family will have a private memorial service in West Virginia. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
