Linn H. "Ike" Eichelberger, 74, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 14, 1942 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Linn E. and Louise A. (Happel) Eichelberger. He was the husband of 8 years to Gayle B. (Heckrotte) Eichelberger whom he married February 9, 2008.
Linn graduated from North Hagerstown High School, Hagerstown, MD in the class of 1960. He entered the United States Navy serving during Vietnam. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he returned to the area where he later retired from Expedited Trucking Co., Hagerstown with more than 10 years of service.
Linn was an avid NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon #24 as his favorite. He enjoyed auctions, camping and all things automotive, especially Mopar.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, and also periodically attended Family Christian Fellowship Church, Fayetteville.
In addition to his wife, Linn is survived by four step-children, Lisa, Kim, Paul and Beth; two sisters, Carole Keyser and her husband, John and Mary Thompson and her husband, Steve; two brothers, Vance Eichelberger and his wife, Mary and Dr. Dwight Eichelberger and his wife, Brenda; and several step-grand and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Bruce Gowe and the Rev. Rod Thomas will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, will Military Honors shall be accorded.
The visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at the funeral home.
