I'm sorry to read this. I worked with Mike in the 1980s at the Department of Energy. He was a great boss and funny too.

For 18+ years we were blessed to have Mikey in our lives, playing the part of honorary Grandpa, fondly referred to as the Grand-Paparazzi since he never went anywhere without his camera. He never missed a holiday, birthday, or babysitting gig. He was always first in the pool with the kids, and first to say "yes" to playing a game, and first in line for dessert. He was always ready to talk about the hard stuff unless it was about him. We will so miss him! Our love and prayers for his Peace and for his daughters, grand daughters and constant companion and life partner, Betty Lou. Love, Stephanie, Mike, Kaitlyn & Carli Desmond (Betty Lou's son & family)

Hey, Mike you were a character! And a good soul, just like your brother Don. The Monacos have lost 2 amazing men in 1 1/2 years. Hugs to you, and if you see Don give him a hug for me, Karen.

I grew up on Grant Street, Bethesda, Maryland next door to Mike and his brother. I just determined we were in Vietnam at the same time; however, we never encounter each other. It is good to know he was successful in his life.

I didn't know you very long Mike, but in the time I did know you I grew to love and admire you for your undaunted fight with your illness. You and your loving companion "Betty Lou" were and always will be friends of mine and my companion, Geri Petitt (widow of your best childhood friend Malcolm "Mac" Petitt.
