Ronald Luther Obituary

Ronald V. Luther
BELLEFONTE
Ronald V. Luther, 57, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2015. Born on December 22, 1958, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the eldest son of the late Vincent Luther and Virginia (Timco) Luther, who survives in Bellefonte. Ron married his college sweetheart, Stephanie Speelman of Chambersburg, PA on June 8, 1985. After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Quantitative Business Analysis, Ron spent most of his professional career at Corvette America as an account representative. Ron was a practicing Christian and faith was an important part of his life, always a welcome presence at church services and events. One of his favorite faith related activities was attending Christian concerts. A lifetime love of sports was fostered in Ron from a young age, whether it be the comradery of his old softball team, or the countless hours on the golf course perfecting his formidable drive, or time spent watching his favorite Pittsburgh and Penn State sports teams. Travel was also an important part of Ron's life, taking every opportunity to get away to the beach with his adored Stephanie. Ron's selflessness was clear to everyone around him and he was always happiest when he was able to lend a helping hand to his friends and family, well above and beyond his roles as dearly loved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Alan J. Luther, and his father, Vincent. Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his sisters, Brenda A. Morrison of Bellefonte and her husband, James, as well as Kathleen M. Peter of Lock Haven and her husband, Dan; his beloved nieces and nephews; and best buddy, Ben.
Private graveside services will be overseen by Pastor Tim Yates of the Watermarke Church at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held and announced at a later date.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Watermarke Church at 210A East Howard St., Bellefonte, PA 16823; or to Centre County Paws, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA, 16801.
Arrangements are under direction of the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte (814-355-4261). Online condolences may be made at

I first met Ron when he came to see me at the motorcycle dealer where I worked. He heard from a mutual friend that I had just moved to the area. He wanted to welcome me to State College and invited me to a backyard party at his home. It was one of the best parties I´d been to. A couple of years later I ended up working at Corvette America as an account representative right next him. I was always thankful for his compassion for others and that he invited me, someone he didn´t know but he knew I needed friends in my new area, to his home. I still remember him often.

Ron was a man the I met through my very first job at Auto Accessories of America in 1994. He was the first to say hello & welcome me. He was always so kind and he always, always laughed. He was fun to be around. He loved his wife, 4 legged, the beach and PSU anything! He spoke of them always and with pride. This news breaks my heart. I pray for Ron's family and loving wife. He will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear about Ron. My husband and I have been business associates with Ron for a very long time. We will surely miss him, as he was very special to us and we loved to joke around with him. He loved to talk about your trips to the beach and what fun you would have and how he would be looking forward to the next trip. We enjoyed seeing him at Corvettes at Carlisle and my husband visited him at work now and then. Your entire family will be in our prayers and in the prayers of our group of prayer warriors. May God bless you with the peace that passes our understanding.

I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Ron as we did lots of business together over the past 25 years. I was shocked when I called for him today and found out he was gone. We had a much deeper relationship than just business as we shared personal things over the years also. We went out to lunch together every time I made it to his area. He will be missed greatly! Stephanie, Norm came home at lunch time and told me of Ron's passing away. I am so heart broke to think of him being in so much pain. My heart and our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family. He was such a fun man to know when I worked at Corvette America. Always had a smile on his face and if I was down, he offered good words for me. He stopped in to see me when they moved over to Reedsville, and I was ill. I so appreciated seeing him. He was an amazing man. God bless him and may he now be at peace!
