Steven Minnich Obituary

Steven C. Minnich Steven C. Minnich, 50, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday evening, January 29, 2015, in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD. Born February 19, 1964, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Virginia M. (Cordell) Minnich of Waynesboro and the late Christian H. Minnich. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Steve graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1982. In 1986, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Penn State University. He and his wife of over 20 years, Marla L. (Frank) Minnich, were married on December 16, 1994, in Chambersburg. Steve was a Legislative Aide for Congressman Shuster for nine years and later served as Franklin County Treasurer for eight years. He was last employed as the owner/operator of The Beer Shed, Waynesboro, from 2000 until his retirement in 2014. He attended services at The Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, and playing golf. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children, Jacob Kenton Minnich and Hannah Elizabeth Minnich, both at home; his brother and sisters, Sharon K. Minnich, Donna M. Ford, and Terry L. Minnich and his wife, Debra, all of Waynesboro; his special mentor, Kenton H. Broyles of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in The Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Dennis Beaver and Pastor Drahus Oslik officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Waynesboro Area Gala Cancer Auction, P.O. Box 244, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
