Barbara Anderson Obituary

Barbara "Barb" Ewing Anderson, 84, formerly of Punxsutawney, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Barbara was born on Jan. 21, 1938, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Dorothy (McMillan) and Francis LeRoy "Dutch" Anderson.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney. She was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1955. Upon graduating high school, she became a dental assistant.
She began her career in the airline industry based in New York City as a stewardess with Northeast Airlines on May 4, 1961. On Aug. 1, 1972, Delta Airlines merged with Northeast Airlines. At this time, she transferred to Delta's Flight Attendant Base in Dallas, Texas, thus making The Colony, Texas, her home for 50 years. Barbara's flying career continued on with Delta for the next 33 years, and she retired as a Delta Airlines flight attendant after completing 43 years of service in 2005. She enjoyed her flying career immensely.
Barbara forged many wonderful friendships with her fellow flight attendants throughout her career with Northeast and Delta Airlines. She traveled near and far, enjoying a wonderful, blessed life.
She enjoyed fishing, golfing and skiing. She was a member of the Delta Airlines Women's Golfing Team and earned them many trophies.
She is survived by her cousin, Timothy S. Meenan and wife Sandi of Punxsutawney, along with a host of cousins, and her dear friends and caregivers Maryilyn and Norm Kemp of Haslet, Texas.
She also leaves behind her loving fur-baby Miss Daisy Mae, her devoted companion of 15 years.
She will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, with Pastor Erin Kobs officiating.
Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, alongside her mother and father.
