David Bottenhorn Obituary
David was born on Aug. 7, 1944, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to the late John and Laura (Delp) Bottenhorn.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was known around the area as "Old Man Dave." He loved to make people laugh and always had a joke and a conversation for his friends.
David was an avid fisherman who always carried his fishing pole in his car, so that if he happened to find a good fishing spot while on his travels, he could just pull over and fish.
His grandchildren called him "Funny Grandpa." He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He will be very missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Wayne Bottenhorn and wife Theresa of California and David Bottenhorn Jr. and fiancee Dawn Durocher of Michigan; and one daughter, Kelly Bottenhorn and fiance Jeremy Betz of Johnstown; and his beloved grandchildren, David III, Emma, Cody, Riley and Tyler.
David was the youngest of eight brothers and was preceded in death by an infant sister.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate David's life at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.

Dave Sr. Was a man full of fun and laughter you would never leave him without a smile because he was filled with them. I remember when he would help people carry their stuff from the food banks and always had a happy conversation with them or he would be that one person to play with a fussy baby just so the mother or father could cash out.... Never in all the years that i known Dave did i ever hear him complain about anything or anyone.... I love ya Dave and you will be missed...Rest high my friend....
