David G. Doan Jr.

David G. Doan, Jr., 88, of Anita, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, in Davenport, Florida.
David was born May 7, 1937, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, to the late Almeda (Snyder) and David Doan, Sr.
David was part-owner in Doan Land and Trucking and Doan Coal Company. He worked on the gas rigs and did welding. He was owner of The Snake Pit in Anita.
He enjoyed participating in hunting and fishing, horseshoes, and bowling on the citrus valley campground team in Florida. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife across the United States, visiting family and friends and spending time in Florida during the winter months. He will be remembered for his storytelling and his wonderful laugh.
David married Carol Johnson on March 14, 1955, and together they had five children, Darla (William) McGonagle of Davenport, Florida, David (Jill) Doan of Arnold, Maryland, Judith (Jim) Siverling of Beverly Hills, Florida, Christy (Tom) Brosius of Davenport, Florida, and Sherry (Todd) Bortz of Anita; he is also survived by one brother, James and Suzie Doan of Reynoldsville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arleen Stiles, and a brother, Bob Doan.
Friend will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at the Deeley Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, beginning at 12 p.m., with Pastor Dale Dean officiating.
Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
