David Bradley Phillips, 80, died peacefully at his home in Punxsutawney, surrounded by his loving family on Monday Jan. 11, 2021.
David was born on Sept. 6, 1940, in Alderson, West Virginia, to Ralph Phillips and Helen McAllister. He grew up with three brothers, Buck Phillips, Sterling Phillips and Riley Phillips, as well as his sister, Opal Welder.
He graduated from Alderson High School and attended barber school.
After moving to Punxsutawney, David married the love of his life, Janet Meckley, in 1961. He was employed with Season All industries for many years.
David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Buck and Sterling Phillips; and his sister, Opal Welder, as well as his grandson Christopher and his great-grandson Kayden.
David is survived by his wife, Janet Phillips, as well as several children: William (Brad) Phillips and wife Charlene, Eddie Sr. Phillips and wife Kelly, Joseph Phillips and Duane and Kristen Phillips and their children Nick and Nate.
He has several grandchildren, Eddie Jr. (Kelly) Phillips, Chad (Katie) Phillips, Scott (Lindsay) Phillips and Kayla (Justin) Smith. Also surviving are Chelsea, Devon, McKenzie and Justin Phillips.
Additionally he is survived by three great-grandchildren, Sage Burkett, Finnlee Phillips and Cole Phillips.

David's funeral care is under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. As per the wishes of his family, there will be no visitation and his services will be private.
David will be buried in the family cemetery on Muddy Creek Mountain in West Virginia.
