James Gaston Obituary
The son of the late Luther and Pauline (Henry) Gaston Jr., he was born on April 28, 1942, in Punxsutawney.
Jim was an avid car mechanic.
He owned and operated his own service station, the Commons Shell Gas Station in McLean, Virginia, before retiring to his family farm in 1994.
He was a member of the Rossiter American Legion.
Jim was a very generous person, and he adored his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Hawk) Gaston of Canoe Ridge; two sons, Gregory Gaston and wife Kim of Clifton Park, New York, and Jeffery Gaston and wife Linda of Washington, DC; four grandchildren, Olivia and Theodore of Clifton Park, New York, and Amelia and Helen of Washington, DC; three brothers, Edwin Gaston and wife Nancy of Brush Valley, Jerry Gaston and wife Mary of McLean, Virginia, and Tracy Gaston of Clearfield; his two sisters, Cheryl Anderson and husband Richard of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Karen Ryen of Rochester Mills; and his brother-in-law, Daniel Hawk and wife Chris of Punxsutawney
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Forrest Hawk.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, with Pastor George "Butch" White officiating.
Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Rossiter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Albion Heights United Methodist Church, 202 Jenks Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
