Karen Nesbit

1943 - 2025

Karen (Holby) Nesbit, 82, of Marchand, passed away on Nov. 2, 2025.
She was born on April 29, 1943, to the late Dorothy Mae Holby in Strangford.
Karen was a graduate of Blairsville High School with the Class of 1961. She married Jerry Nesbit, and together they owned and operated Bra Mar Farm in Marchand, Indiana County, from 1966 until 2021. Karen enjoyed sharing her life's stories with everyone, and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed canning and freezing produce, and sharing her delicacies with family and friends throughout her life. Making her own butter and canning authentic sauerkraut were her specialties, and visiting with family was one of her greatest joys.
She is survived by three daughters, Beth (Karl) Huber, of Frederick, Maryland, and granddaughter Kira Huber (fiancé Liam Massey) Charleston, South Carolina, grandson Alex Huber (Brenna) and great-grandson Silas, Martinsburg, West Virginia, Jody (Jim) London of Punxsutawney, grandson Justin (Brittney) London, great-granddaughter Emmalynn, and great-grandsons Arthur and Oliver, grandson Jordan (Amber) London of Punxsutawney, and great-grandson Linkoln, and Brenda Homan, Valier. Also surviving is her sister, Donna Durant, and her husband Jim, of Blairsville, and close cousins Carolyn Chapman of La Salle, Michigan, and Carol Smith of Blairsville.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Glenn Adams, son-in-law Bradley Homan in 2021, son Brett in 2021, and husband Jerry in 2022.
Services are private and have been entrusted to the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
