She was born Jan. 15, 1927, and is the daughter of Warren and Dove (Young) Curry
She married John Bakaysa July 17, 1948. in Mahaffey
She was the mother of Richard Bakaysa of La Jose and Barbara (Joe) Orange of Indiana, Judy (Kenneth) Long of Rossiter, Pamela (Kevin) Lettie of Punxsutawney, Lisa (Alan) Gallaher of Irvona, and grandmother of Jason Long, James Gallaher, Joseph Gallaher, Amber Diehl, Darrin Lettie and Dylan Lettie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother Ed; and sisters Inez, Eunice, Alta, Violet and Elsie. She was the last surviving member of her family.
In her early years she worked at Pateli Dress Shop in Coalport, where she met her husband.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and an AARP life member.
Family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m., and the funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., 91 Rose St., Irvona, with Rev Richard Engle officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, La Jose.
