Ronald Larko Obituary
Born Aug. 16, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Micheal A. and Margaret J. (Gresock) Larko.
Father Ron was a 1967 graduate of Penn Hills High School, a 1971 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and served his country in the Army Reserves. He was ordained as a priest on June 6, 1982.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and John.
Father Ron is survived by his brothers, Michael J. (Marsha) Larko of Plum and Thomas (Karen) Larko of Punxsutawney, and sisters Anna (John) Maier of New Florence, and Patricia (Ed) Morris of Plum. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, his body was received into St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 E. Main St., Uniontown, for celebration of the Panachida. Visitation followed from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. in church, with the Priestly Parastas at 7 p.m. Due to the current pandemic visitors are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. Private interment for the family will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Yatesboro.
In honor of Father Ron, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. Personal written tributes and memories are welcomed and encouraged at www.hakyfuneralhome.com.

Our deepest sympathies. Father Larko married us in July 1982 in Weirton WV. I believe it was his first marriage ceremony. Eternal memories.

Father Ron was our priest at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic church Northern Cambria Pa in the mid to late 80's reviving our catechism program. He always had a huge smile and before the start of catechism on Sundays the entire church would gather in the basement for doughnuts coffee and juice. Everyone enjoyed those gathering's and it all started with Father Ron! See you in Heaven our dear friend and brother. You indeed were a good and faithful servant!
