James Joseph Gleason, age 69 of Magnolia, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his residence.
Jim was born on July 31, 1951 in Spring Valley, IL to James and Edna (Childs) Gleason.
James was a graduate of Putnam County High School and Motorcycle Technical School in Phoenix, AZ. Upon graduating high school, he worked at the LTV Steel Plant in Hennepin until it closed, and then worked in Valparaiso, Indiana. He moved back to Magnolia where he resided upon his retirement.
Jim married Kathy (Kostellic) Siemers on May 26, 2020 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Jim and Kathy enjoyed their time together traveling, collecting antiques, riding their motorcycle, duck hunting, and doing outdoor activities. He was a member of the Chillicothe Trapshooting Club, and the. Spring Bay Sporting Clays.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Charlie Brouwer.
Survivors include his wife Kathy; his son Matthew and daughter Jennifer Scarbrough, both of Spring Valley, three grandchildren, Zachary Scarbrough of Ladd, and Garrett and Travis Gleason of Tiskilwa; three sisters, Sharon (Jim) Petersen of Hennepin, Dolores (Raymond) Actis of Spring Valley, and Mary Ann (John) Brouwer of Hennepin; his stepdaughter Alexis (Gary_ Boggio, and stepchildren Bella and Landon Boggio of Hennepin; sisters-in-law, Cherri (Chuck) Romamani, Margie (Nick) Van Wingerden, Connie (Jeff) King and Diane (Donald) Baxter; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to the Hennepin Fire Department, the Putnam County Senior Center in Standard or any food pantry.
There will be a memorial mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Utica at a later date.
