Died: July 13, 2021 in Princeton, IL
Nancy J. Shaw, age 82, of Fish-n-Fun, McNabb, and formerly of Dalzell, entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Liberty Village of Princeton.
A private family visitation and service was held Thursday evening, July 15, 2021, at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Cremation was accorded following services, with burial at a later date at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Nancy was born on April 20, 1939 in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley to Louis Passini and Rose (Ferroni) Passini Monterastelli. She married James G. Shaw Sr. on September 9, 1957 at St. Thomas More Church, Dalzell. He passed away on April 3, 2012.
She graduated from Dalzell Grade School and Hall High School, Class of 1957. Mrs. Shaw worked several jobs including at Westclox, waitressing, a water meter reader, ravioli making, and as a school bus driver, beginning in 1972 for Dalzell Grade School, then Putnam County Schools thru Ryder and Illinois Central Transportation until her retirement. People will also remember her love of playing cards and the joys her family brought to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzy (John) Pacione Twardowski of LaSalle; two sons, James (Patricia) Shaw Jr. of rural Hennepin and Frank (Wendy) Shaw of Groveland; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, with 1 expected in February 2022; her sister, Patricia (Michael) Ray of Dalzell; sister-in-law, Carol Carruthers of Spring Valley; brother-in-law, Thomas (Nancy) Shaw of Granville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles; son-in-law, Richard Pacione; brother-in-law, Earle Carruthers; and sister-in-law, Eileen Passini.
The family wishes to thank Nancy's many friends from school, card game playing, and work, for their love and support. She and her laughter will be missed.

I remember Nancy fondly from my 3 years coaching sports at Dalzell Grade School in the early 80s. I spent a lot of time on the bus riding to the away games with her. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
